However, Golf is a sport that requires much practice and you also need to know the different technical aspects that make it the sport it is today. Golf is a precision sport where in players use a golf club to hit a small ball roughly the size of a ping pong ball that set on the ground into different holes in a golf course using the very least amount of hits. So when you start playing you may have trouble getting the ball into the hole with just 2 or 3 hits. Don’t get discouraged easily. It takes a lot of practice to be good at golf and that is one of the best ways to familiarize yourself with the sport. A lot of practice will go into your swing – which is how you would hit the golf ball with your club. Swinging is not just about throwing around your club; it involves moving your body and shifting your weight on your hips and arms to get that smooth and fluid motion needed to connect with the ball without hitting the ground.

The term “Par” is defined as the number of swings it usually takes an expert golfer to get the ball into the hole depending on how far the hole is relative to the distance of the ball. A “Tee Shot” is basically the first shot taken for each specific hole. The “Tee” describes a very small stand on which the ball is placed before being hit.

Golf etiquette is also very important. While some are not defined in rule books, they are commonly practiced to show respect for other players. This is because most players concentrate during their swing and any interference can be seen as a form of disrespect. On the other hand, you shouldn’t take too long a time when it’s your turn to hit the ball. Also, be aware of your surroundings when swinging your golf club as you may hit other players.
